Laparoscopic Surgery

Laparoscopic surgery patients generally have a faster recovery, less pain and decreased complication rates when compared to traditional open surgeries. Patients experience fewer wound complications and return more quickly to pre-surgical levels of activity. Typically, patients return to work within one to two weeks. Recovery may take longer if a more traditional, open surgery is necessary or if the patient has other health complications.

Floyd offers the most advanced and integrated operating suites available today. The first site in the Southeast to offer high-definition laparoscopy technology for bariatric surgery, our surgeons are specially trained to use advanced, minimally invasive technology to achieve the best possible results.

In laparoscopic surgery, the surgeon makes several small incisions that allow him to use small surgical tools with video capability in the patient’s abdomen.
